Woman dies after alleged stabbing, partner found dead hours later

A domestic dispute tragically escalated, resulting in the deaths of a 32-year-old woman and her 38-year-old boyfriend within hours. The woman was fatally stabbed, and her boyfriend died by apparent suicide, leaving two families devastated.

What seemingly began as a domestic dispute ended in tragedy, with two lives lost within hours, leaving families and the community reeling.

A 32-year-old woman, Ramashia Vhonani, died after her boyfriend allegedly stabbed her on Saturday afternoon at Tshifudi Tshikombole near Sibasa.

Police said the incident occurred at around 14:05. Vhonani was rushed to a hospital in Polokwane, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The body of her boyfriend, Khorombi Nstumbedzeni (38), was found at his home in Tshidzini at around 15:45 on the same day. He is believed to have committed suicide by hanging.

Police initially opened a case of attempted murder, which is expected to be upgraded to murder following Vhonani’s death. An inquest docket has also been opened after the suspect was found dead.
