Police are searching for the culprits behind the murder of a 62-year-old woman from Xikundu Village in the Saselamani area.
The woman, who has not been identified yet, was shot dead in her house by an unknown number of attackers. According to police information, the incident occurred at about 20:00 on 30 July.
Provincial police spokesperson Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe said that the woman allegedly opened the door for her daughter who arrived home after work. "She was shot from the outside by an unknown number of suspects," said Ngoepe.
During the attack, the woman's husband was also injured and cash was stolen from their house. The daughter managed to escape unharmed.
The police have requested anyone with information regarding the attack to report it to D/Sgt Kubayi at Tel 071 602 0268 or to Capt Boshomane at Tel 079 894 5501.
