Mukondeleli "Mukondi" Malabi, a well-known gospel artist, songwriter and music producer, has made a triumphant return with her third album, Vhamudzi Mulweli, which was officially released on 15 May.

Malabi, who hails from Makwarela and is affectionately known as the "golden voice lady," released her debut album, Muita Madembe, in 2016, followed by I Will Sing Loud for Your Mercy in 2020.

The gospel singer is thrilled about her latest release. "This 12-track album has already shaken the local gospel music fraternity," she said. Mukondi says the album is centred on worship and giving God the reverence He deserves.

Although she manages her own marketing, she values the positive response from listeners. "I believe that, as a Christian, the power of God is helping me overcome all the obstacles and tribulations associated with the music industry – especially when you're doing everything on your own," she said.

Mukondi is a devoted member of The Living Gospel World Mission Church in Tshilivho village, where she mentors young and aspiring gospel singers.

"I started singing in the Sunday school choir and never looked back. I grew up listening to gospel legend Rebecca Malope and felt inspired by her music. I was always imitating her when singing in the church choir," she said.
