The multiple-award-winning gospel music powerhouse, Worship House, has done it again by scooping up three awards during the 17th Annual Crown Gospel Music Awards. The awards, which recognise excellence in gospel music, were held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand on 25 November.
Founded by former radio broadcaster Bishop Isaac Dagada in 2003, the Limpopo-based outfit has since released numerous albums of high-energy gospel music, sung in half a dozen South African languages.
The choir, which has nine Crown Gospel awards in its cabinet, proudly took home the "Best Gospel Group Award," the "Best Praise Song Award," and the highly coveted "Best Gospel Song of the Year" for their heartfelt single Africa for Jesus.
The highlight of the night was the choir's live performance at the awards, where they showcased their unmatched talent and passion for ministry.
One of the group's leaders and a founding member, Boitumelo Sejeng, better known as Tumi B, described their latest awards as yet another huge milestone in the group's history.
She said the winning single, Africa for Jesus, released in December 2023, was more than just a song. "It marked the start of a new chapter for us as a group. The track served as the launchpad for the pre-order of our latest album, Worship House 20 Celebration Live in Limpopo, which debuted in March this year. This special project commemorates the choir's remarkable two-decade journey in the gospel music space, a journey characterised by spreading hope and uplifting spirits through our powerful gospel melodies," she said.
Tumi B further indicated that their latest achievement has made the founder, Bishop Isaac Dagada, very happy. "The bishop is astonished by this outcome. Having won all three awards we were nominated for is nothing but grace," Tumi B said.
