When you have the energy, a beautiful body, and confidence besides, figuring out that modelling might just be the answer to your prayers is not hard. At least, that is how the realisation hit home for 22-year-old Ndivhu Maseko Manngo.
Ndivhu originally hails from Tshikwarani village but was raised in Gauteng. When she was 13 years old, she joined a group of fellow pupils at DC Marivate Secondary School in Pretoria to take part in the school's modelling pageant, where she ended up among the top five contestants. This, she said, contributed much to building her confidence.
In 2021, Ndivhu moved back to Limpopo, where opportunities arose for her to take part in modelling pageants. "I took part in three modelling contests, but the most professional one was the Face of Midoroni 2021/22 pageant."
Ndivhu battled it out with 12 other young ladies and again managed to end up among the top five contestants. "When my name was called among the top five, I really did not believe that I had made it. This encouraged me very much," she said. Bubbling with confidence, she is already preparing for three upcoming pageants in 2022.
Ndivhu reckons many opportunities exist for a girl out there, as long as she stays focused. She herself has her heart set on becoming one of the modelling personalities for the US company, Fashion Nova, in Los Angeles, California.
Her broader vision is to inspire young girls. "I don't want them to be unnecessarily obstructed. My message to young girls is, do not listen to what other people say about you. You can always achieve your dreams."
Although Ndivhu still keeps herself going with modelling, she would like to further her education as well. She has already registered with UNISA to study psychology.
