The much-anticipated Safa Vhembe Hollywoodbets League promotional playoff matches will be played on 28 June at various venues across the region. The nine qualifying teams have been divided into three groups, with matches set to take place at Tshifulanani, Makhuvha, and Malamulele stadiums.
The teams that secured playoff spots are Vhembe Tron, Madombidzha Try Again, Berea FC, Rabali Pull Together, Langutani Blue Birds, Mashamba Soccer Academy, Makonde FC, Tshitavha Brave Lion, and Ngwenani Young Chiefs.
While Madombidzha Try Again are seen as underdogs, Ngwenani Young Chiefs and Rabali Pull Together are considered favourites, following impressive performances throughout the season.
At Tshifulanani Stadium, action kicks off on Saturday morning at 08:00, with Madombidzha Try Again facing Ngwenani Young Chiefs. Rabali Pull Together will then meet Ngwenani Young Chiefs at 11:00, followed by Madombidzha Try Again taking on Rabali Pull Together at 15:00.
The winners from each group, along with the best-performing runners-up, will proceed to the semi-finals and final, scheduled for 5 July at Thohoyandou Stadium.
The overall champions will represent the Vhembe region in the Safa Limpopo ABC Motsepe League promotional playoffs, where they will compete against winners from the province's four other districts.
Madombidzha Try Again's spokesperson, Mr Maanda Themeli, said their players were "razor-sharp" and ready for the challenge. Ngwenani Young Chiefs' coach, Mr Mikosi Themeli, and Rabali Pull Together's managing director, Mr Itani Siwada, echoed similar confidence, with both camps determined to secure promotion.
