Fourteen-year-old netball player Zwivhuya “Zuzu” Ramuedzisi, originally from Hamadodonga village in the Kutama area, is appealing for financial assistance to travel to England after being selected to represent her school on an international netball tour.
Zwivhuya currently lives with her parents in Gauteng and is a Grade 9 learner at Uitsig High School in Centurion. She has been selected to join a team that will tour Manchester and London from 30 November to 8 December 2026.
“My love for netball began in primary school and was nurtured when I started playing in Grade 5 at Springvale Primary School in Centurion. This laid the foundation for my skills and commitment to the sport,” she said.
After joining Uitsig High School in 2025, her talent and leadership qualities were quickly recognised by her teachers and coaches. She was appointed captain of the U14 netball team in her first year and received the Best Sportswoman Award at the school’s year-end awards ceremony. Thornbill Netball Club also named her Player of the Year.
In April 2026, Uitsig High School participated in the Woerie B-Easter Sports Netball Tournament hosted by Hoërskool Centurion in Lyttelton. Her performance at the tournament led to her selection for the international tour.
Zwivhuya said her dream is to represent South Africa’s national netball team, the Proteas. She now needs financial support. The tour costs R70,000, covering travel, visas, kit, accommodation and participation. Donations are open until the end of October 2026.
