Young Relebogile Mphaphuli gets crowned Miss Inspire SA

Eighteen-year-old Relebogile Diyase Mphaphuli from Vhembe was crowned Miss Inspire South Africa, a significant achievement for the young model. She plans to use her platform to inspire youth, focusing on empowerment, education, and cultural pride.

Vhembe once again delivered a standout performance with the crowning of 18-year-old Relebogile Diyase Mphaphuli as Miss Inspire South Africa at the Albert Thuli venue in Benoni on 28 March.

A second-year Bachelor of Accounting student at Boston City Campus, Mphaphuli is from Ramantsha. She began modelling at the age of 12, saying the experience helped her build confidence and gain insight into the industry. She was very excited about winning the title and praised her parents for their support.

“It was a great competition and my first experience on such a big stage. I had only participated in local competitions in this area before, so it was very unfamiliar territory. I want to become an ambassador for other aspiring models,” she said.

Mphaphuli hopes her story will inspire young people across South Africa.

“Success doesn’t always start in fancy places … Sometimes it starts with a small salon, a bag of sweets, and a refusal to give up. No dream is too far when you have purpose, compassion and determination,” she said.

She said she aims to encourage young people to believe in themselves and represent Vhembe and Limpopo with pride.

“I have worked hard and I know I deserve this, and I will represent the people of Vhembe and Limpopo well wherever I go,” she said.

Mphaphuli emphasised that modelling is about more than beauty.

“It’s a chance to grow personally while contributing to both the industry and society. The crown gives me a platform to lead and inspire others,” she said.

As Miss Inspire South Africa, she plans to focus on youth empowerment, particularly encouraging young girls to stay in school, pursue their dreams, and embrace their culture and heritage. She added that her journey in the pageant world is only beginning.
