Mukula Young Santos were unstoppable when they brutally flattened Musasenda Big Five 4-0 in their Tshikosi Off-season Soccer Tournament match at the Makonde Home Defenders grounds on Sunday.
Big Five managed to absorb the pressure from the opposition in the first 20 minutes, but their fighting spirit faded with time. Young Santos were awarded a penalty in the 14th minute after a defender of Big Five handled within the box.
Tshilisanani Phalanndwa tried his luck from the penalty spot. The ball hit the woodwork and bounced back into the field of play.
The mishap did not kill Santos' fighting spirit. They continued to play as a team, creating moves from behind. Their endless efforts paid off in the 24th minute. Andanani Makhadi hooked the ball in, following a scramble within the box. Big Five missed a fortune in the 27th minute. They were awarded a penalty, but Avhashoni Makhoshi's half volley was not strong enough to beat the Santos' keeper, Ronewa Mavhungu.
Tshilisanani Phalanndwa of Santos was reprimanded with a card, following a continued argument with the referee three minutes before the break. Another Santos player, Gudani Tshifhango, was also warned with a card for faking an injury.
Santos scored three beautiful goals within a short space of time. Thitevhelwi Nembilwi found the net in the 67th minute, following a mix-up within the box. Humphey Takalani was on target three minutes later, following a square pass from Gudani Tshifhango.
Their fourth goal was an honor to their fast forward, Vhahangwele Tshifhango.
