Rhumba musician Joseph Mbiza, popularly known as Zozo in music circles, has promised his fans fireworks when he takes the stage for the fifth iteration of the Denim and White Party (Venda Edition). The event is set to take place at the Berea Madzonga Resort in Zwigodini, just outside Musina, on Saturday, 26 August.

The Denim and White Party, initiated in 2017, has been held at various locations over the years. The annual event, hosted by Manero Entertainment and Siaga Holdings, boasts a crowd-pulling lineup that includes local and international names such as Colbert Mukwevho, King Monada, Shasha, Fortunator, Limpopo Boy, Karishma, Mizo Phyll, Asa Tee, Gusba Banana, Tshifhiwa Rabambukwa, Proheed, Miccylia, Justice and, of course, Zozo.

The show will be hosted by popular MCs Jones Netshipise (known as Phalaphala FM's Mr Lover Lover), and Mzimba Asaph, better known as Mama Jack from Uzalo.

Regarding his upcoming performance, Zozo said he would pick up where he left off at the same show last year. "Last year, I had to perform until 08:30 at a show that was supposed to end at 06:00 because the ecstatic fans couldn't get enough of me. This year, my stagecraft has greatly improved, and we've been spending a lot of time rehearsing. To find out what's in store, be at the show. I'll be performing many of my all-time hits and some from my latest album, 'Thavha,' which is already on YouTube," he said.

The festival spokesperson, Manero Nelson James, said the event was going to be one of the best shows they had ever hosted. "We spared no expense to secure the best talent from the South African music scene. The interest shown by music lovers when we resumed after the lockdown was overwhelming, and judging by the ticket sales, this year's event will be a sold-out affair. The show will not only empower local artists but will also benefit hawkers from the area as they get to sell their wares during the event. It will further encourage tourists to explore the Far North as one of the favoured tourist destinations, and of course, we will be celebrating the women of our country as well," he said.
