A talented raggamuffin artist, Unwary-man, has just released his third album, No bva nga litswu.
He maintains that the title refers to the fact that someone has gone astray. No bva nga litswu includes tracks such as O ntswa mbilu (She charmed me), Give me peace, Wha gwan (What's happening), Maintenance officer and Sensimella (dagga).
"When reggae emerged in the late 1960s, it came as a cultural bombshell not only to Jamaica, but to the whole world. That is why it is being played all over the world," he says. "If you want people to listen to you, talk to them musically. Some people become weak whenever they encounter challenges in life, so they need advice on how to tackle the challenges."
This album was produced by Ananius Begwa of MB Records.
A resident of Ha-Masethe village in the Nthabalala area, Unwary-man's passion for singing was realised at a tender age. "I used to sing songs of Lucky Dube, Khakhathi and Friends, Jahman Chiganja and Ntshenge," he says.
He describes himself as a "Christafarian", a combination of Rastafarian and Christian. "I sing in Tshivenda, Xitsonga, English and Jamaican Patois.”
O ntswa mbilu was preceded by his earlier two albums, entitled Zwi do luga and Judgement Day.
