Mr Majo Almost-Famous wants Africa's best comedian award

A local comedian, Mr Majo Almost-Famous, who was crowned the Best gospel comedian at the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards last year, has been nominated in this year's Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST).

He has been nominated in the Africa gospel comedian of the year category and he is up against Multi B (SA), Kenny Blaq (Nigeria), Akpororo (Nigeria), Angel Gabriel (SA), Lepacious Bose (Nigeria) and Tebogo Ntlahane (SA).

"I honestly cannot describe the feeling about being nominated It is truly a blessing to be afforded such an opportunity to represent not only Vhembe District or Limpopo, but the whole country on our continent."

The CEO of AGAFEST, Prince Mackay, said that the event recognized and celebrated talents and hardworking gospel acts, ministry, mission projects, outreach and evangelism, charity works and many more works related to the gospel across Africa.

Mackay added that the awards also sought to unearth, encourage, motivate and inspire musicians and Christian activities, missions, and evangelism outfits to aspire to attaining excellence in their ministries and businesses, and to be of better service to the Kingdom of God.

He thanked his fans for the love and support they had shown to him since 2014 and all the awards they had helped him to win.

Mr Majo Almost Famous was born Mukovhe Magwedze and he hails from Makwarela.

The awards will be held on 30 March in Accra, Ghana.

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication.
