The disappearance of people in the Vhembe region is becoming a source of great concern. Hardly a week passes by without a person being reported missing.

In one of the recent strange disappearances, a woman from Mutsha, Pinky Masuvhelele, went missing from her hospital ward at Tshilidzini and was never seen again.  As if that was not enough, yet another girl from Tshivhilwi outside Thohoyandou has disappeared without a trace.

Rofhiwa Mathaulula (14) of Tshivhilwi Thondoni was last seen at her home on Saturday, 8 September, at around 12:00. According to Limpopo police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the girl left her home without informing anyone where she was going and has not been seen again.

Mathaulula has been described as being light in complexion and of medium height. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue denim jeans, a black and white jersey and sandals.

After her disappearance was reported to the police, they sprang into action with members of the community and launched a massive search for her at different places, including her close friends and relatives, but the searches bore no fruit.

"Anyone with information about her whereabouts can contact D/Sgt Kwinda at 083 355 2787 or 015 960 1070 or the Crime stop number 0860 010 111 or the crime line SMS 32211 or the nearest police station," said Ngoepe.
