Can the Eagles fly over TTM?

It remains to be seen whether Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will make Royal Eagles pay for the 0-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Mbombela United when they meet in their NFD League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

While TTM need the points from the match to remain in the hot race for the league title, it will be a matter of life and death for Royal Eagles.

The Eagles, from Pietermaritzburg, are perched in the second-last position on the log, while TTM are in the eighth spot, seven points behind the pace setters, Highlands Park. TTM will be without two of their regular players, Carlington Nyadombo and Frank Motebejane, tomorrow.

Their Zimbabwean centre back, Carlington Nyadombo, was given his marching orders, while Motebejane was taken off the pitch on a stretcher in their game against Mbombela United last Saturday.

Tlotlo Leepile and Lifa Hlongwae are expected to make things happen in the absence of Nyadombo and Motebejane.

After collecting the maximum points at the expense of Mthatha Bucks last Saturday, Black Leopards will travel to the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem where they will play against Super Eagles. A win for Lidoda Duvha will be enough to make them one of the hot contenders for the league title. Super Eagles and Black Leopards are tied at 13 points.

Pretoria University will play at home against Richards Bay FC at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria. Although they will be playing in front of their home crowd, Highlands Park will not find it easy against Witbank Spurs as Highlands Park are still to drop a league point after appointing the former Bafana Bafana assistant coach, Mr Owen da Gama, as the team’s head coach two months ago.

Stellenbosch FC will pay a visit to Real Kings in Durban. Mthatha Bucks will host Ubuntu Cape Town at the Mthatha Stadium, while Jomo Cosmos are gearing up for a home match against Mbombela United at the Vosloorus Stadium in Johannesburg.

Cape Town All Stars will play against Uthongathi FC at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town.
