Benny’s Care crowned as champions

Benny’s Care were crowned as Copa Coca Cola U/15 Champions for Vhembe when they beat Tshiitwa High school 3-2 in the final played at the Gaba grounds last Friday.

The winners were determined by penalty shoot-out after they played to a 1-all draw.

The coach of Benny’s Care, Mr Moses Muthelo, said that participating and winning in the competition was about pride and honour. “We want to be the first team in Limpopo to win the tournament,” he said.

According to him, his players are very happy about making it to the provincial finals. “I hope that they will eventually get good results. The boys are doing their best and we have a good understanding.”

He said their aim was to use the tournament as their stepping stone to the national championship. “Apart from the fact that there is a lot at stake in the competition, it is time for us to fulfil our promises,” Muthelo said. “We promised the fans and all the Vhembe residents that we want to bring home some silverware.”

The provincial championship will be held next month when the winners of the other five districts in Limpopo will participate at the Malamulele Stadium.
