Young Santos and Berea in Mafhungwana last-16 clash

The last-16-round matches of the Mafhungwana Soccer Tournament will be played at two different venues this Saturday. Four matches will be played at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds, while the other four will be played at the Tshivhilwi Tshiberetheni Grounds.

The opening match at Benjie’s Grounds will be between Matangari Settlers and Vondwe United Brothers at 09:30. Matangari High Aims and Mukula Jamaican Stars will follow suit at 11:30. Tshimuthe FC will test their strength against Makonde FC shortly after midday.

The day’s programme will be wrapped up by the much-awaited match between Mukula Young Santos and Berea FC. This one is expected to be a final before the actual final, considering the fact that Young Santos and Berea had performed well in their first three league matches.

The opening match at the Tshivhilwi Tshiberetheni Grounds will be between Musasenda Big Five and Univen FC. Musasenda Big Five proved beyond any doubt that they are the giant slayers when they unexpectedly beat Vondwe XI Bullets 4-1 to lift the Vision Soccer Tournament trophy at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds about two months ago.

Khubvi Dangerous Darkies will have a date with Tshivhilwi Young Bombers at 11:30, followed by the match between Napoli FC and Buluni Happy Boys. Saudi FC will entertain Nweli Stone Breakers in the last fixture of the day.

According to one of the organisers of the tournament, Mr Avhapfani Nengwekhulu, the toss for the quarter-final fixtures will be conducted at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds shortly after the last game on Saturday.
