Zama-Zama Challenge's champs to take home R60,000

 

The 2023 edition of the Zama-Zama Soccer Challenge will be launched during a meeting at the Xilumani Hotel in Giyani on Sunday, 26 November. Clubs interested in participating in this year’s event are expected to send two delegates to the meeting, and these delegates should bring along a registration fee of R2,200.

According to the founder and sponsor of the tournament, Mr Victor Hlungwani, registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. Only clubs that send delegates to the meeting will be allowed to register. Hlungwani mentioned that the rules and regulations for the tournament would be distributed to the clubs during the meeting.

A total of 32 teams are expected to take part in the tournament. This year’s champions will take home a whopping R60,000, a floating trophy, and gold medals. The runners-up will receive R30,000 along with the silver medals.

Teams eliminated in the semi-final round will each receive R10,000. Individual awards will be presented to the top goal scorer, player of the tournament, goalkeeper of the tournament, coach of the tournament, and the best referee.

The opening matches are scheduled to be played on Thursday, 14 December, while the semi-final and final will be played on Sunday, 31 December. All matches will take place at the Homu 14B Grounds outside Giyani.
