Will Young Chiefs tame Musasenda’s Big Five?

This weekend marks the start of the much-awaited ABC Foundation Soccer Tournament. The matches will be played at two different venues, Makwarela Stadium and Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds, on Sunday and Monday.

Khubvi Dangerous Darkies will lock horns with Thohoyandou Manchester United in the opening match at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds on Sunday. Makonde FC and Matangari High Aims will follow suit at 11:30. Vondwe XI Bullets will have a date with Phandulaluvalo FC before Musasenda Big Five and Ngwenani Young Chiefs wrap up the day’s programme.

Musasenda Big Five had lifted the Nwali Soccer Tournament trophy at the same venue about three months ago. That followed their unexpected victory over Vondwe XI Bullets. Ngwenani Young Chiefs, on the other hand, have one of the best goalkeepers in the tournament. Their number one goalkeeper, Tshifhiwa Rasivhaga, is no ordinary keeper but an acrobat.

ABC FC will play against Mukula Avalon in one of the four matches that will be played at Makwarela Stadium on the same day. This will be followed by the match between Mulodi Freedom Birds and Saudi Arabia FC. Manamani Blue Birds will test their strength against TRT Academy FC. The match of the day will be between Manamani City and Madridtas FC.

The four matches that will be played at the same venue on Monday are Mukula Young Brothers vs FC SDA Ya Limpopo, Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers vs Mighty Super Power, Makonde Home Defenders vs Rabali Pull Together, and Dipeni FC vs Makhuvha Up the Ants. The following matches will be played at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds on Monday: Classic XI vs Rockers FC, Tshamutshedzi FC vs Thengwe Flying Peace, Tshimuthe FC vs Tshivhilwi Young Bombers, and Eagles FC vs Berea FC.
