Rodadau and Sealene Ladies meet in first Sasol clash of the season

Teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women’s League will play their opening league matches for the 2024 soccer season this weekend. Six matches will be played on Saturday, while two are scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

Rodadau FC will start the new season with a home match. They will host Sealene Ladies at the Tshitungulwane Grounds outside Vuwani on Saturday. Apart from recently appointing Mr Rolivhuwa Sekhonwana to the position of the team’s head coach, Rodadau has managed to retain the majority of the players who were the backbone of their team last year. Some of Rodadau’s players whose contribution to last year’s success was unwavering include Thabetha Mokgaetji, Shonisani “Scooter” Mafela, and the team’s captain, Lethabo “Small” Sello.

Tshandama Young Stars will start the new season with an away fixture. They will travel to Hamasakona village, where they will compete against Masakona Liberty Experience.

Sisters FC will be on the road on Saturday. They will travel to Malamulele, where they will play against Merwe United Ladies at the Merwe Grounds. Maindis Ladies will host Mandebele Happy Fighters Ladies at the Bungeni Stadium. Maindis were relegated from the Hollywoodbets Super League after finishing last season’s programme at the bottom of the log.

Golden Diamonds Ladies will have a match against Ramatlaohle Ladies at the Jane Furse Stadium in Sekhukhune. Sinthumulekutama FC will try their luck against Real Mighty Ladies at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. The other fixtures are FC 50 Stars United vs University of Limpopo and Kanatla Ladies vs Marumo Gallants.
